Born in South Africa, Bernice grew up in Tzaneen and later
Johannesburg. For 20 years, Bernice worked as a secretary for De
Beers Consolidated Mining and Gem Diamonds Mining companies in
Johannesburg and later Cape Town. Today she lives at the
Hartbeespoort Dam
together with her German husband, who translates her novels into German and produces her Voice Arts® Awards nominated audiobooks.

After the successful Frankfurt Book-fare in October 2019, where Bernice sold 345 signed books in one and a half days, she decided that exhibiting her books together with story related merchandise personally is one sure way of reaching the fantasy reading public. So, she extended the Jeff MaDISoN book signing stand with props, costumes, the huge water dragon "Watroc" and "Calidus" the dragon puppet.
